Unparalleled Experience in Defective Mesh Litigation
Since 2006, our product liability attorneys have devoted a substantial portion of our practice to representing patients harmed by defective surgical mesh products. We have researched mesh product manufacturers and investigated the various defects involving surgical mesh devices. We were helping women injured by transvaginal mesh products years before the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued its initial public health notification about the risks of those products in 2008, and we have continued to be at the forefront of the litigation involving defective mesh products.
We understand the serious medical complications caused by defective mesh devices. Because of our expertise, we are often called upon to share our knowledge about mesh product liability with other attorneys. Managing Partner Henry Garrard has served as a frequent presenter at continuing legal education seminars and conferences on defective mesh products sponsored by the American Association for Justice, Mass Torts Made Perfect, and Harris Martin. The firm has put on conferences attended by other lawyers with mesh cases to share our knowledge and experience in helping to pursue justice for mesh injury victims.
Our product liability attorneys have taken mesh cases to trial and successfully resolved thousands of transvaginal mesh cases on behalf of our firm’s clients.
Over the years that we have been actively involved in this litigation, we have developed an international network of experts on various aspects of mesh.
Henry Garrard served as lead counsel and liaison counsel for the plaintiffs in the Mentor Corp. ObTape Transobturator Sling Products Liability Litigation. Mr. Garrard was the Chairman of the Transvaginal Mesh Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice. In the Pelvic Mesh litigation in the Southern District of West Virginia, Mr. Garrard serves as coordinating co-lead counsel for the plaintiffs and is a member of the plaintiffs’ steering committee and the executive committee. Mr. Garrard’s legal views have appeared in prominent newspapers such as The Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, and Florida Today, as well as in television interviews, because of his recognized expertise in transvaginal mesh product liability law.
