Raised in rural Iowa, Sara comes from a family of teachers and farmers. Rewards and responsibilities of a small town lifestyle taught respect for hard work. “Kids in my family worked and so I had all kinds of jobs including roguing corn, sometimes on horseback, to earn my spending money.” Hard work and adventure became part of education. Sara moved to Athens, Georgia for college, studied abroad in Mexico, and attended law school at night paying her way by clerking full-time at a NYC firm. “I have learned to enjoy being outside of my comfort zone and this makes me open to challenges and helps me connect with people from different backgrounds.”
With over 20 years of experience in both plaintiff and defense work, Sara’s role at the firm allows her to spend much of her time working directly with clients to build each case based on individual circumstances and to resolve each case in a way that maximizes recovery. “I love my work in this firm because we value the individuality of each case and we don’t cut corners.” After a winding path, which included a sabbatical year abroad in Berlin, Germany, Sara has returned “home” to her college town where she has built a life in a rural setting with her husband of over 20 years, their two sons and a big bluetick hound. In her free time, she enjoys keeping bees and riding with a local foxhunting club dedicated to horses, hounds and preserving the rural lifestyle. Sara is admitted to practice in New York and Georgia.
